Mr. Mukula Makasa currently serves as Director Enterprise Development at the Zambia Development Agency. He started his enterprise development career at the International Development Enterprises (IDE) an international NGO as Operations Manager in Zambia in 2000 and became the Country Director in Zimbabwe in 2002. In addition he went on to become Regional Development Officer at IDE Africa in 2005 in Harare, Zimbabwe and was later promoted to Africa Region Manager in 2006 at the International Office in London, United Kingdom. The pinnacle of his enterprise development career was gaining recognition by the International Board of IDE International for his contribution towards designing an innovative income based food chain for smallholder farmers in Zimbabwe in 2006. Prior to his enterprise development career, he served in the private sector at Honda Farms Limited as Manager in 1998 to 2000 and Hybrid Poultry Farm as Trainee Manager in 1996 to 1998. He also managed a private enterprise development consulting firm Paramount Transition Limited in 2008 to 2012. A graduate from the Agrarian University at Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 1994, Mr. Makasa obtained his Master of Science Degree in Agriculture in Tropical Agriculture. He is currently pursuing another Master’s Degree in International Development focusing on Public Policy and Leadership.
