MINISTRY OF FINANCE PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP DEPARTMENT


The Public-Private Partnership Department is a department in the Ministry of Finance. It was established under an Act of parliament in 2009.It is headed by a Director who reports to the Permanent Secretary in charge of Budget and Economic Affairs. The Director is supported by three sections namely; Project Development and promotions, Legal and Contract Management and Monitoring and Evaluation. The Department reports to the Permanent Secretary Budget and Economic Affairs. The Department is mandated to promote and facilitate the implementation of privately financed infrastructure projects and effective delivery of social services by enhancing transparency, fairness and long term sustainability. In addition, the Department facilitates the implementation and monitoring of the construction and operation of new infrastructure facilities and systems, and the maintenance, rehabilitation, modernisation, expansion and operation of existing infrastructure facilities and systems, including the provision of social sector services.
